A group opposed to plans to build an eight-story apartment and shopping complex in Dún Laoghaire in south Dublin are to stage a protest march later today.
The 'Save our Seafront' campaign says the construction of the €140 million high-rise development on the site of Dún Laoghaire Baths will block public access to the sea view.
The scheme includes 180 apartments with shops and cafés at ground-floor level on the site of the former baths.
Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown county councillors are expected to consider the plans in June.
A spokesperson for Save our Seafront, Richard Boyd Barrett, said the scale of the project is monstrous and will totally destroy the unique seafront vista and its public characher.
