Tonight, more than two-thirds of the 582 council seats in the Northern Ireland council elections have been filled.
Counting will resume tomorrow when the remainder will be declared.
Of those elected so far the DUP are well in the lead with Sinn Féin lying in second place.
However, Sinn Féin has lost the council seat it held in the Pottinger ward of Belfast City Council in Northern Ireland’s local council elections. The area represents the Short Strand district, where the family of murder victim Robert McCartney live.
The UUP's share of the vote is down in many areas.
The party had held over 200 of the 600 council seats prior to last Thursday's vote, but party insiders acknowledged it would suffer losses across the 26 councils, including Belfast.
The SDLP's share is also down several percentage points while the Alliance Party is holding its share, gaining several new seats.
Billy Hutchinson (PUP) lost his seat on Belfast city council.
Among the newly elected councillors are several new DUP MPs including Sammy Wilson and Gregory Campbell, and a nephew of the SDLP leader, also Mark Durkan.
John Hume's niece, Seana Hume, was elected to Derry city council.
