Two US citizens were among at least 22 people killed in 1raq today in two suicide bombings.
The bombers targeted a foreign security convoy of four civilian vehicles at a busy intersection in the capital Baghdad.
The US embassy said two suicide car bombs exploded beside the convoy, killing 20 Iraqis and two US security guards.
At least 250 people have been killed in insurgent attacks since the formation of the new Iraqi government nine days ago.
The attacks happened shortly before Iraqi politicians finalised the new cabinet, ending three months of political deadlock.
It is believed that agreement has been reached on all five empty cabinet positions, including the sensitive defence and oil portfolios.
The identities of the new candidates will be announced tomorrow.
