Around 200 people gathered in Dublin city centre this afternoon for a Reclaim the Streets protest.
The protestors marched down O’Connell Street and then congregated along Beresford Place between Butt Bridge and Abbey Street for an impromptu street party.
Earlier around 70 of the protestors cycled along a number of city streets blocking traffic.
The organisers of today's march said their aim was to have a family friendly street party with a carnival atmosphere.
A number of protestors carried anti-capitalist and anti-war banners while others played frisbee and football on the streets.
In May 2002 a Reclaim the Streets protest was marked by clashes between the protestors and the gardaí. However the last two years’ protests passed off without incident.
