The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, who is in Israel, has said the key to ending the Middle East conflict lies in continuing dialogue between the Israelis and Palestinians.
Mr Putin, who is the first Russian President to visit Israel while in office, said he wanted to strengthen ties between the two countries in the war against terrorism and extremism.
Russia is one of the four sponsors of the international roadmap for Middle East peace.
