Measures taken on INO protests

The Chief Executive of the Health Service Executive, North Western Area has issued a statement outlining measures being taken to address the on-going bed crisis at Letterkenny General Hospital.

The measures come in advance of another protest by the Irish Nurses’ Organisation at the hospital’s A&E department.

Pat Dolan acknowledged the impact of the situation on patients and staff. He said conditions were far from ideal and staff were doing everything they could.

Space is one of the biggest issues facing Letterkenny and Mr Dolan said additional space was going to be provided by temporary prefabricated buildings.
