IBEC offers case for Dublin by-pass

The business group, IBEC, has called on the Government to commit itself to building a complete by-pass of Dublin, which would include linking the city's port area with the M50 at Sandyford.

IBEC claims the estimated costs of up to €2 billion could be significantly reduced, if not eliminated, under a public private partnership.

It argues the by-pass is essential if growth at Dublin Port is to continue.

The statement was made ahead of a transport conference with the National Roads Authority today.
