A survey in the United States suggests that President George W Bush's approval rating has slipped to a new low.
The poll by USA Today, CNN and Gallup found that 45% of those questioned thought Mr Bush was doing a good job, compared to 52% of those surveyed last month.
A spokesman for Gallup suggested that the President's involvement in the Terry Shiavo case may be the reason for the seven-point drop in popularity.
Mr Bush broke off his holiday to sign emergency legislation on Monday that permitted federal courts to consider appeals by Mrs Schiavo's parents to force the reconnection of a feeding tube to prolong the life of the brain-damaged woman.
