Britain's Home Secretary, Charles Clarke, has ordered a review of last year's decision to downgrade cannabis following recent studies suggesting a link between the drug and mental illness.
Cannabis was downgraded from a class B to class C drug, but Mr Clarke has now asked an advisory body to consider whether that decision should be changed.
A study in New Zealand earlier this month suggested smoking cannabis virtually doubled the risk of developing mental illnesses such as schizophrenia.
