US President George W Bush has said that transatlantic ties would not be permanently damaged by what he called a 'passing disagreement of governments'.
He was delivering a speech to EU and NATO leaders in Brussels aimed at mending transatlantic relations following rifts over the US occupation of Iraq.
Mr Bush again called for Syria to end its occupation of Lebanon. He also said Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
