European experts may help Lebanon

The authorities in Lebanon say they will ask European experts to help investigate the car bomb attack in Beirut on Monday that killed the country's former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Reports say Swiss experts in explosives and DNA are to be brought in but the overall control of the inquiry will rest firmly with Lebanon.

The Lebanese Interior Minister has rejected a call by France for an international investigation.

The United States has called for a credible inquiry.
