INO to organise A&E campaign

The Irish Nurses' Organisation is to organise a campaign entitled Enough is Enough aimed at highlighting the crisis in A&E departments in hospitals around the country.

The campaign is expected to be endorsed by the union's executive and could take place as early as 22 February.

It will involve lunchtime protests at affected hospitals which consistantly suffer from overcrowding.

The union is calling on patient groups and other public health care workers to be involved.

The INO has also called for an emergency meeting with Tánaiste and Health Minister Mary Harney to discuss her plans for accident and emergency services.
