An opinion poll for tomorrow's Irish Times shows the satisfaction rating for the Government at 52%, up nine points since October.
The TNS/MRBI poll was taken last Monday and Tuesday before the IRA issued its official denial of involvement in the Northern Bank robbery.
The poll surveyed 1,000 people across each Dáil constituency. The last comparable poll was in October of last year.
The results show Fianna Fáil support at 38%, up three and just three points off the 41% share won by the party in the 2002 general election.
The Progressive Democrats are up one at 4%; Fine Gael is down two at 22%; Labour is unchanged at 13%; Sinn Féin is down one to 11%; the Green Party remains at 4% and Others, including Independents, are down two to 8%.
In the personal ratings for party leaders, Taoiseach and Fianna Fáil leader Bertie Ahern is up 7% at 60 points, while Tánaiste and PD leader Mary Harney is unchanged at 54.
Fine Gael's Enda Kenny is down two to 44; Labour's Pat Rabbitte remains at 49; Trevor Sargent of the Green Party slips two to 33 and Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams is down nine to 42%.
