The government of Sudan and rebels from the south of the country will sign an agreement today aimed at ending more than 20 years of civil war.
The signing ceremony will take place in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
The American Secretary of State, Colin Powell, who will attend the event, has said the Sudanese government should also end the conflict in the western region of Darfur.
