Thousands of Eircom customers could be out of pocket this Christmas after a processing error in the direct debit billing system deducted two sets of bills from some customer accounts.
For 16,000 customers who use this method of payment, the August/September bill failed to be taken from their accounts until now.
These account holders are now facing this bill and the October/November bill.
Eircom is urging users to call their 1901 number if they find themselves in this situation.
