The Taoiseach is to hold talks with the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in London on Wednesday.

The two governments are at what Mr Ahern described as ‘hopefully the decisive stage’ in their efforts to broker a deal in the North's peace process.

The Taoiseach has also agreed to meet the SDLP leader, Mark Durkan, in Dublin tomorrow morning.

Mr Durkan has criticised both governments for showing their formula for a political breakthrough to just two of the North's parties, Sinn Féin and the DUP.
