The US Vice President, Dick Cheney, has been taken to hospital suffering from shortness of breath.
A White House spokesman said Mr Cheney, who has a history of serious heart trouble, was undergoing tests at a Washington hospital.
Mr Cheney has suffered four heart attacks since 1978 and was treated for cardiac problems in January 2001, shortly after entering office with US President George W Bush.
