Militants holding three UN workers hostage in Afghanistan have offered to consider extending a deadline for harming their captives.
The three, including a woman from Co Armagh, were abducted on Thursday.
Their kidnappers had threatened to kill them in three days unless all Taliban and al Qaeda prisoners are released by Wednesday.
Tonight they said they would think about giving more time before carrying out their threat
Meanwhile, UN officials have called for the release of the three election workers.
Annetta Flanigan from Co Armagh was kidnapped in Kabul together with a Filipino diplomat and a woman from Kosovo.
The so-called Army of Muslims group also demanded that the UN cease its operations in Afghanistan.
This morning the three were seen in captivity in a video broadcast by Al Jazeera television.
