Kenyan runner wins Dublin marathon

The Dublin City Marathon has been won by the Kenyan runner Lezan Kimutai, who established a new record. 

He crossed the finishing line with a time of two hours, 13 minutes and 51 seconds. The record had been held since 1983.

The women's race was won by Yelena Burykina of Russia who had a time of two hours, 32 minutes and 52 seconds.

First Irish man to cross the finish line was Garry Crossan in a time of two hours, 24 minutes and seven seconds.

More than 10,000 runners took part in the 25th Dublin City Marathon today, the largest number in 22 years. 

Just over half the runners were Irish, making it the country's biggest entry since 1982.
