Bord Bia has said it hopes to double exports of beef to France over the next three years.
Sales of Irish beef there have increased in the recent past.
The Minister for Agriculture, Mary Coughlan, said she saw this as a signal that the problems from BSE are receding.
Ms Coughlan was speaking in Paris where she is leading a major sales promotion of Irish exports.
She is attending the Cial food and drink exhibition, which has attracted buyers from almost 200 countries.
Ireland's food and drink exports to France were valued at more than €350 million last year.
