Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin has established a telemedicine link with two major children’s hospitals in the US.
It will allow doctors to get advice from experts abroad and simultaneously view x-rays and test results.
The high-tech development will also link the Crumlin hospital to a number of other hospitals in Ireland.
It is expected that this will reduce the need for sick children to travel to Dublin for examination.
