Taxi fares could be set to rise again after Dublin City Council agreed to fare increases last night.
The public currently pays €2.75 and an additional charge of 50c when hiring a taxi during the day.
Last night, the council approved an increase to €3.40 by day, and €3.70 at night.
The fares increase will come into effect on 17 January next if approved by Dublin's other three local authorities.
