2 Israeli children die in Gaza rocket attack

Two Israeli children have been killed and 13 others wounded in a rocket attack by Palestinian militants in Gaza.

The children, aged 2 and 4, were were killed when two makeshift Qassam rockets hit a residential block in the town of Sderot close to Israel’s fenced border with Gaza.

Shortly after the attack, Israeli helicopters fired missiles at targets into the Jabalya refugee camp in Gaza, believed to be a stronghold of Islamist militants.

One Palestinian was killed and at least three others wounded in the firing.

The rocket attack incident came amid an Israeli operation aimed at stopping such attacks.

Three Palestinians, including two teenagers aged 14 and 17, were killed in the Israeli operation in northern Gaza.

A 13-year-old boy was also killed in an earlier incident in Gaza.

And Israeli troops killed in two Palestinian militants in raids into two cities in the West Bank.
