The Taoiseach has reiterated the Government's commitment to tackling obesity.
Speaking at a medical conference in Dublin highlighting the benefits of exercise, Mr Ahern said the increase in the numbers of obese children around the world was particularly worrying.
He said a solution to stop the rise of obesity needed to be identified.
