Daphne Trimble, the wife of the Ulster Unionist leader, has said she is to seek her party's nomination to stand in the next British general election.
Mrs Trimble said she hoped to contest the Lagan Valley constituency to try to unseat the DUP's Jeffrey Donaldson, who defected from the UUP in January this year.
Mrs Trimble said she did not think the DUP spoke for the people of Lagan Valley.
