A senior leader of Hamas' military wing is reported to have been killed in an Israeli missile strike on his car in the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian witnesses said the missile was apparently fired by an Israeli airforce drone hovering over the city. Several others were said to have been injured.
The incident took place in an Islamic militant stronghold in Gaza City.
Hamas, sworn to Israel's destruction, is the main militant group spearheading a campaign of suicide bombings against Israelis.
