The US State Department has said it is preparing a new United Nations resolution to deal with the humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan.
The State Department spokesman said the US would soon talk to other governments to decide what to put in the new resolution.
The Secretary of State, Colin Powell, will testify on Darfur next week before the Senate Foreign Relations committee.
