Members of the Fianna Fáil party discussed its reform at a meeting in Dublin today.

It followed disappointing local and European election results in June.

Speaking prior to the meeting, delegates spoke of the need to encourage the participation of young people in the party and to examine the efficiency of the party's structures at local and national level.

The day-long meeting, which was held in private, was addressed by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern this morning.
