More than 800 cattle farmers have been staging a demonstration outside one of the country's biggest beef processing plants at Athleague in Co Roscommon this evening.
They are protesting over price cuts which they say will force them out of business.
The IFA said the reduced prices being offered by Kepak are totally unjustified and are having a severe impact on farmers.
The company argues it is being forced to make the cuts because market prices have weakened rapidly in recent weeks.
