The Railway Procurement Agency says around 700,000 passengers have used the Green Luas line from Sandyford to St Stephen's Green since it began a full paying service on 5 July.
The Chief Executive of the RPA, Frank Allen, said he was delighted at how quickly the people of Dublin had taken to Luas.
Trams are now operating at five minute intervals during peak periods and at a frequency of seven and a half minutes for most of the off peak period.
The RPA says that since the line was launched there have been no accidents of any significance and says this is remarkable by international standards.
However, it is encouraging the public to continue to exercise care near tramways now that high frequency testing on the Tallaght line is underway.
The RPA is offering free park and ride facilities for disabled people. It has also increased the speed of ticket vending machines and a promotion aimed at encouraging passengers to buy tickets in shops has been launched in an effort to reduce pressure on the machines.
It has still not given a date for the start of services on the Tallaght to Connolly Station line. This line was due to come into operation at the end of this month. However, this now looks unlikely.
