Two Pakistani migrant workers taken hostage in Iraq have been executed.

The Pakistani embassy in Baghdad confirmed their deaths early this morning.

Sajid Naeem, 29, and Azad Hussein Khan, 49, from a village in
Pakistani Kashmir, went missing six days ago in Iraq.

The Arabic television station, Al Jazeera, said it had a videotape of the killings but would not broadcast it.

A group called the Islamic Army in Iraq said it had kidnapped the two Pakistani nationals because they were working for US forces.

However, a Foreign Ministry spokesman, Masood Khan, said the men were employed by a Kuwaiti company. He described the killings as brutal.
