It is reported that over 300 jobs will be lost at a yarn factory in Co Donegal.
Letterkenny's biggest employer, Unifi Textured Yarns Europe, is to wind down its operations between now and October.
The firm manufactures polyester yarn and was for many years the flagship industry in the town.
At its peak it employed over 750 people.
Workers were informed of the job losses at a meeting this afternoon.
The company is expected to make an announcement tomorrow.
