Hizbollah member killed in Beirut

A senior member of the militant guerrilla group, Hizbollah, has been killed in what appears to have been a booby-trap car bombing in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The group named the man as Ghalib Awali and said the bombing happened as he left his home in a southern suburb of the city.

No-one has claimed responsibility for the killing. However, Hizbollah has blamed Israel for the attack.
