The Railway Procurement Agency estimates that 430,000 commuters used Dublin's new Luas light rail system during its first five days of operation.
The service was free to the public from last Wednesday until late last night.
An RPA spokesman estimated that 20,000 commuters would use the Green Line service today, the first day that the public has to pay fares on the trams.
