The body of a seven-year-old boy was found on the beach in Balbriggan, Co Dublin shortly before 11am today.
Karl Moore, from Malahide, Co Dublin, was first reported missing at 10am.
Gardaí said the boy had been staying in the district with his aunt, while his parents were on a holiday
A post mortem will be carried out on the body on Monday.
Gardaí are not treating the death as suspicious.
