The number of people claiming unemployment benefit dipped slightly to a seasonally adjusted 167,000 in June from 168,000 in May, according to the latest figures.
The figures released today by the Central Statistics Office include part-time workers, seasonal and casual workers.
The CSO says the figures are not aimed at measuring the number of people who are unemployed.
The standardised unemployment rate stood unchanged from the previous month at 4.3%.
