The former President and UN Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson is to be awarded an honorary doctorate by a Scottish university.
Ms Robinson will be presented with a Doctor of Law from Glasgow Caledonian University on the same day as the first Presiding Officer in the Scottish Parliament, David Steel receives the same award.
A spokesperson for the university said the pair were being recognised for their unequalled contribution in the fields of human rights and politics at home and abroad.
