Eight English football fans who were ordered out of Portugal for rioting have been released on bail.

The men, aged between 19 and 37, did not appear in court to face football banning orders, but were served their bail papers in the waiting room at a London court.

The eight were ordered to surrender their passports and not to leave the UK until they return to the same court for a hearing on 28 July.

Two other supporters who were arrested late on Monday night in the resort of Albufeira have been cleared of committing any offence.

After their release the men, Jason Boyle and Paul Donohue, both from Manchester, claimed they were mistreated by Portuguese police.
