SIPTU's aviation branch has called on the Taoiseach to confirm that he will consult with Aer Rianta employees before any legislation is finalised over the break-up of the company.
The branch, which represents 12,000 workers including clerical staff, cleaners and baggage handlers, met at Dublin Airport this morning.
It followed media speculation that legislation on the break-up of the company is to be approved at tomorrow's Cabinet meeting.
The union says that unless it gets confirmation from Bertie Ahern today that legislation will not be approved, industrial action will be inevitable.
