Commenting on the citizenship referendum, the Catholic Bishops' Conference says that changing the constitution is always a serious matter.
They urge all to take part in the debate and to vote.
However, they say that any vote cast with the intention of weakening or denying the fundamental rights of all people who find themselves in Ireland, whether citizens or not, would be fundamentally wrong.
