Families remember Chinook crash victims

Families of the 29 people who died in the RAF Chinook helicopter crash at the Mull of Kintyre gathered this afternoon to mark the 10th anniversary of the disaster.

Around 140 relatives of those who lost their lives in the crash attended a memorial service beside the crash site.

Relatives began to gather at a memorial cairn shortly after 1.30pm, forming a queue to lay personal floral tributes.

25 senior anti-terrorism experts based in Northern Ireland were killed in the crash, together with the helicopter's crew of four. It was the RAF's worst peacetime disaster.
