A new opinion poll suggests that Fine Gael's Gay Mitchell could top the poll in the Dublin European constituency.
The capital's Lord Mayor Royston Brady also looks on course to win a seat for Fianna Fáil.
The Lansdowne poll for Prime Time and the Irish Examiner indicates support for Gay Mitchell at 17% and Royston Brady at 16%.
According to the survey, sitting MEPs Patricia McKenna of the Greens and Labour's Proinsias de Rossa are both on 13% while Mary Lou McDonald of Sinn Féin and Eoin Ryan of Fianna Fáil are both on 12%.
The poll found Ivana Bacik of Labour to have 11% support with 3% backing Joe Higgins of the Socialist Party.
While Fine Gael will be pleased with Gay Mitchell's strong performance the same cannot be said of the party's showing in the Local Elections where its support is the same as that for Sinn Féin, at 14% .
Fianna Fáil will be relatively happy on 29%, as will Labour on 21% and the Greens on 11%. The PDs are on 3% with Others on 8%.
In the citizenship referendum, the constituency survey found that 53% of those polled said they would vote in favour, with 33% against and 14% saying they did not know.
