Four British soldiers have been questioned by military police investigating allegations that British troops abused Iraqi prisoners.
The Ministry of Defence said all four were questioned and released.
The arrests are not thought to be linked to the faked abuse photographs which were published in the Daily Mirror newspaper.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the Mirror is to donate all profits made since the publication of the pictures to charity.
The Editor of the Daily Mirror, Piers Morgan, was sacked yesterday as the newspaper acknowledged that photographs it printed were fakes.
Mr Morgan refused to apologise for publishing the photographs.
Separately, the US President, George W Bush, has said he will not allow any abuse of Iraqi prisoners by US troops.
In his weekly radio address, he said the actions of the soldiers at Abu Ghraib prison did not reflect the true character of the US armed forces.
The US armed forces have been instructed to stop certain practices, which might be used in interrogating prisoners.
The instruction follows weeks of controversy concerning the treatment of Iraqi detainees in Abu Ghraib prison, near Baghdad.
