A Dublin man has appeared in the Dublin District Court charged with the murder of his son.
John Carroll, 48, of Bayview Rise, Killiney was charged with the murder of 12-year-old Andrew Carroll.
The accused, a father of four, was remanded in custody to appear in Dún Laoghaire District Court next Friday.
Andrew Carroll was found dead in his home in south Co Dublin yesterday.
The State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, has carried out a post mortem examination on the body. The examination took place at Loughlinstown hospital.
The boy died after what gardaí say was a violent incident in the house at around 6pm yesterday evening.
