FF Senator Brennan to switch to PDs

Its been confirmed that Fianna Fáil senator Michael Brennan, is to join the Progressive Democrats.

The Adare based senator will be accepted into the party tomorrow night at a meeting of the PD National Executive.

Senator Brennan, who was nominated to the Seanad by the Taoiseach, applied for membership in the PDs within the past week.

He has been embroiled in a protracted row with the Fianna Fáil organisation in Limerick, over the failure of his wife to get party backing to stand for his county council seat in the upcoming elections.

His departure from Fianna Fáil will leave the party with 28 senators and bring the number of PD senators to five.
