SIPTU workers at one of the biggest single employers in the south-east have voted in favour of industrial action if negotiations over pay break down.
Two hundred and seventy seven SIPTU members at the Braun factory in Carlow voted in favour of all action up to and including industrial action. Seventy six voted against.
SIPTU officials and management at Braun are expected to continue discussions next week on a number of issues, including grading, pay and promotions.
The company employs between 400 and 600 people, a figure that fluctuates depending on orders.
