It has been confirmed that the Minister for Education, Noel Dempsey, will be attending this year's annual conference of the secondary teachers' union, the ASTI.
The two sides have been negotiating a revised format for the minister's address and have reached agreement.
The union met representatives from the Department of Education this morning to formalise arrangements.
Over a month ago, Mr Dempsey asked the three teachers' unions to agree to a change of format for his traditional address at their annual conferences.
The INTO and the TUI reached agreement with Mr Dempsey last month.
