A Palestinian suicide bomber on a bicycle blew himself up next to an Israeli military jeep in the Gaza Strip but caused no casualties among its occupants.
Only the bomber was killed in this afternoon's incident outside the Jewish settlement of Kfar Darom.
Israeli police earlier clashed with a crowd of young Palestinians at the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.
Police stormed the mosque, which is part of a shrine that is holy to both Jews and Muslims, and fired rubber bullets and threw stun grenades at hundreds of young Palestinians who had thrown stones at them.
According to Israeli radio, the youths also threw stones at the Wailing Wall.
