Europe and Central Asia are witnessing the fastest growing aids problem in the world according to the director general of the world health organisation.
Doctor Jon-Wook Lee was speaking in Dublin as delegates from 55 countries arrived to discuss ways of slowing the advance of the HIV virus in the region.
The delegates include ten young people involved in combatting the problem in their own conuntries as well as health and development ministers and representatives of non governmental organisations.
