The Basque separatist group ETA has announced a ceasefire applicable only in the eastern Spanish region of Catalonia.
A Basque radio station said ETA would make a statement suspending what the group calls the 'armed struggle' in Catalonia.
The announcement comes less than a fortnight after ETA warned it would attack tourist areas across Spain all year round.
The group is fighting for an independent state in the northern Basque region of Spain and parts of southwestern France.
